Medieval Institute Summer 2018 Program at Notre Dame

The Medieval Institute's 2018 Summer program will offer Medieval Latin (taught by yours truly) and Medieval Diplomatics (taught by don Federico Gallo of the Biblioteca Ambrosiana) this year!

In Medieval Latin, we will read an exciting selection of authors and texts including an entire week dedicated to Ovid in the Middle Ages. Each class begins with a brief material culture exercise to develop sight reading skills using manuscripts, inscriptions, numismatics, and the like.

This is a great opportunity for students from other universities and from Notre Dame to continue to develop their Latin reading skills and a rare chance to acquire the skill of Diplomatics in a North American setting. And yes, there will be MANUSCRIPTS! See the flyer below for more information.

Important dates:

March 21: Registration opens for current ND Students & Application opens for Non-Degree and Visiting Students.
June 18: Summer Session begins (6 weeks)
July 27: Last Day of Class + Final Exam
